Ingredients

  • Fish fillet boneless ( Trout/ cod etc) 400 gm
  • lemon juice 30 gm
  • Salt gm to taste
  • chilli powder 2 gm
  • turmeric 3 gm
  • flour for dusting as needed
  • Chick pea flour ( faina de naut) 100 gm
  • Cornstarch 30 gm
  • turmeric 5 gm
  • cummin seeds ( toasted) or ajwain 3 ml
  • Red onion chopped 15
  • soda bicarbonate 2 gm
  • Salt to taste
  • chilli powder to taste
  • veg oil 15 ml
  • sparkling water as needed
  • Oil for frying as needed
  • lemon as needed

Instructions

method

  1. use a firm fish fillet , season fillet with lemon juice, salt , chilli and turmeric
  2. mix all the dry ingredients except water and oil ,
  3. add water and mix well , to a thick batter , lastly add oil
  4. dust fish in flour and then batter and fry inhot oil
  5. cook till fish is cooked and crisp , depends on thickness of fillet
  6. serve with lemon
  7. serve hot as shown
