Ingredients
- Basmati Rice 1 cup
- water 1 3/4 cup
- veg oil 30 ml
- cinnamon 1 gm
- cloves 1 gm
- cardamom green 1 gm
- black pepper corns 1 gm
- star anise 1 gm
- Onions sliced 30 gm
- garlic 1 gm
- carrots ( batons) 50 gm
- green beans ( fasole verde ) 50 gm
- Salt to taste
Instructions
method
- wash and soak rice in water for 15 mins ( do not crush the rice , use a light hand )
- heat a pot add oil
- add spices in oil and wait till it get s fragrant
- add onion, garlic, carrots and sweat till it gets soft . ( for 2 mins)
- add water, salt and bring it to a boil .
- when water starts boiling add soaked and drained rice . Bring it to a boil.
- cover cook for 12 mins on low flame
- when cooked use a fork and fluff the rice ,
- TASTE , and serve warm accordingly
